Participation of the CEFET/RJ team in the formula Drone
Professor João Quadros guided the students of the Robotics Maracanã team at CEFET/RJ in the Formula Drone Project. The team was trained for more than eight months and managed to win the fifth place of the 20 participating teams. The students who participated in the project and represented the institution are from the technical courses in computer science, electronics, and mechanics.
“Although the students were well-prepared, we knew that we would face better-prepared teams. But even with little time, they showed knowledge and ability to solve very large problems”, explained Quadros.
For Professor Quadros, learning surpasses the competition. “They are learning how to assemble a drone, do a design, measure and calibrate. It is a growing area in Brazil. They are taking technical and professional knowledge that they will use later since many want to continue in the area of robotics”.
