PPCIC Magna Class

The graduate program in Computer Science (PPCIC) of the Federal Center for Technological Education of Rio de Janeiro (CEFET/RJ) held the Program Magna Class on September 19, 2016, from 11h to 12h, in Auditorium III, at Campus Maracanã, Rio de January.

The Aula Magna was lectured by Prof. Marta Mattoso (Coppe/UFRJ). The professor is one of the national references in the area of Computer Science and contributed directly to the formation of more than half of the permanent Faculty of the PPCIC. She approached “systems of recommendation, reflections and interaction in times of Big Data”.

The opening lecture was presented by Prof, Eduardo Ogasawara, program coordinator, That provided A historical context that culminated in the creation of the program and presented the “Norms, rights and duties of the students”.

Subsequently, Prof. Fabio Porto (LNCC) was honored as Patron of the Program, for its unconditional support in the creation of the PPCIC. He spoke about “inct in data science as an enabler of PPCIC”.

The activities were directed to the entire academic community, researchers/professors of the research groups in computing, as well as teachers from public and private schools, managers in education, and interested in general. In addition to the presence of the new students of the Ppcic, the event had the participation of high school-technical and undergraduate students.
