Inaugural class 2018.1 with Prof. Nelson Maculan Filho

The graduate program in Computer Science (PPCIC) of the Federal Center for Technological Education Celso Suckow da Fonseca (CEFET/RJ) proudly invites the Community to attend the inaugural class of the 2018.1 class, on March 15th, at 10:30 a.m., in the auditorium V , at Maracanã Campus, Rio de Janeiro.

The inaugural class will be handed down by Prof. Nelson Maculan Filho (UFRJ). He will address the theme “Higher education in Brazil and the world”. Nelson Maculan Filho graduated in mining and metallurgy engineering from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (1965), Master’s degree (D.E.A.) Mathematical Statistics- University of Paris VI (Pierre et Marie Curie) (1967), Ph.D. in production engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1975) and Degree OfHabilitation To Direct Of Research (H.D. R) In Sciences Of The Management (1988), University Paris-Dauphine (Paris IX). He is currently Professor Emeritus at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He has experience in the area of computer science, with an emphasis on computational mathematics, working mainly on the following topics: Combinatorial optimization, whole programming, linear programming, column generation, and global optimization.
