The Research Group on Combinatorial Optimization and Applications (OCA/CNPq), linked to the Federal Center for Technological Education Celso Suckow da Fonseca (CEFET/RJ), has as its primary objective to promote the study and development of computational optimization models aimed at the solution of complex problems in the theoretical and applied fields. Thus, we seek to develop tools to support decision-making to solve natural phenomena. This way, interdisciplinary research involving different areas of knowledge, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Logistics, Transport, and Healthcare, is promoted. Among the applications investigated are problems involving Smart Cities, Supply Chains, Industry 4.0, and the Internet of Things.
